Edna Adan Ismail
Edna Adan Ismail is a globally recognized leader in public health, diplomacy, and women’s rights. A trained nurse and midwife, she has held senior roles in government and international organizations, including the World Health Organization. She is the founder of the Edna Adan University Hospital and a long-standing advocate for maternal health and the eradication of harmful practices. She has also served as Somaliland’s Foreign Minister and continues to play a prominent role in peacebuilding and international advocacy.
